Information about Reiki
As a Reiki Master/Teacher, I feel it is important to teach students an all round knowledge of healing. Primarily I feel Reiki 1 is opening a spiritual doorway or vortex to the spiritual path. I have been guided by my spiritual teachers, Maybritt Tellefesen and Rev. Andrew Hunter as well as the spirit world. Life has also been my University where I have been at the lowest point imaginable to where I am today. Many inspirational people have crossed my path. My students I also see as my teachers.
I focus upon aspects that I , when I was a student had a thirst for. I focus upon what is needed to give a firm foundation when first embarking upon the spiritual path. Perhaps my role, is more of a spiritual pathfinder for those at the start of their journey. My passion is teaching and my interest in you as you embark upon this journey.
I meet the needs of each individual student. Usually those who enroll on a course often have similar issues to confront and heal. The course is then tailor made for you. Each workshop I teach is different depending upon the persons present.
Workshops are taught either on a 1-1 basis, in pairs, or three or four. I tend not to take more than four persons at any one time as I feel that Reiki is a very unique and beautiful experience. Therefore I feel it is important to give the student time to talk, and heal.
Once you have found your feet, I act as a guide. I am there if you need me, yet I feel it is important for you to walk your own path. I will catch you if you fall. I am there for you, all you have to do is ask.
Not only do I teach the primary syllabus that is taught within all schools of Reiki, but I also teach additional subject matter to give you a more comprehensive approach, not only to Reiki and healing, but also to intergrate into your life.
Subjects that I also teach are
"Knowing and understanding the chakras"
"Understanding and healing the Aura"
"Self awareness exercises which include laughter therapy and dance and movement"
"Meeting your Reiki guide"
"Meditation and Visualization"
These subjects are incorporated into your reiki manual. A comprehensive manual that is yours to keep. I also insist as part as your own spiritual development, that you keep a 21 day diary. This is not for me. It is for you so that in 21 days time you can reflect back and notice the changes within yourself from before the course and after.
I have been witness to so many people changing their lives. It is an incredible journey once taken. It is as easy as believing.
The following are examples of people who have worked upon themselves over a 21 day period. I have to stress here. If a person works upon themselves within the 21 day period and continues within their life, changes, profound changes for their highest good will transpire. However if the student feels they are unable to keep a diary, heal the self or unable to work upon themselves then very often the progression within their life is very slow, or even their life resides within the hangman situation, in suspence with little changes happening.
I have to stress therefore that you are a beautiful individual who deserves love. You have as much right to love as the love and healing you are giving to others.
Affirm
"I deserve positive changes in my life" or are you going to hold onto the limiting belief patterns "Nothing ever changes in my life"
"I deserve to be happy" or do you believe "I will never be happy"
"I deserve an abundance of prosperity in all areas of my life" or do you feel "I never have enough money"
"I have a healthy body, mind and spirit" or "I dont feel well, my body aches, I cant think and I feel lost"
"I am Loved" or do you prefere to believe "I feel so unloved, nobody loves me"
"I trust the process of life" or do you hold onto the belief pattern of " I dont trust anyone"
Are these affirmations empowering?
Giving light, unconditional love to your thoughts helps you to be a better person and change your life around. So reading the affirmations above do you resonate with the positive or the negative. So you see that the positive are empowering and make you feel fantastic. Trusting in a higher power helps us to believe that anything is possible.
I have taught over 50 students Reiki courses. These are a few of many experiences they have had.
So the following students experiences.
A school teacher who was an art teacher. She had a block and could not paint. She also was inspired to learn Reiki as a friend of hers was dying of Cancer. She wanted to give love back to an inspirational guide.
Working upon herself and keeping a diary. She gave herself daily treatments. As she gave the treatments to herself she affirmed her day. It was not long that she suddenly had the passion to paint again. Not suprisingly her paintings were Flowers. The energy of the flower of Life. She felt good about herself and alot more positive.
The other woman who was on the course was lost spiritually. She had once been attuned to Reiki by another person, yet had not felt anything. I also feel here it is worth mentioning that one must always ask a Reiki Master/Teacher for their Lineage. The Lineage gives the Reiki Master Credibility. There were also other aspects that she had not been taught.
However, This young woman was spiritually lost. Her life was just in limbo and she was not going anywhere. After the 21 days she mentioned that she gave up writing her diary half way through the week as she could not think of anything to write. She also mentioned that she had given reiki to others and felt alot of heat and energy, but she felt she could not give the energy to herself. She felt that she did not deserve the unconditional love. Unfortunately she had a history of bad relationships where she pushed the other person away because she felt she did not deserve to be loved. Her mother abandoned her. PARENTS, please note. YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO YOUR CHILDREN. How you behave to your children has a profound affect upon their lives.
Unfortunately this woman remained for sometime in limbo until she could manage after extra support and healing to begin to love herself a little more each day. We can either be conditioned by our elders, our parents into believeing what is best, or to get intouch with the soul and believe what you feel is right for you as an individual. EVERYBODY DESERVES TO BE LOVED.
I have worked with alot of alcoholics, drug addicts, people with HIV and Cancer. Many, in fact most of these people are very sensitive people and often shunned by society. Working with them and meeting them at their level and experience has perhaps been the most profound experience of my life. Having time for people that most people are afraid of is just a beautiful experience.
All of those who were alcholics changed their life around. That is fantastic. When Imet them they had made the decision to seek help and had already done the 12 step program.
One gentleman, and I call him a gentleman because he is. Patrick, had been reading my articles and seeing my advert in the paper for about a period of 2 years before he plucked up the courage to call and meet me. I invited him to come to a healing circle where he could meet likeminded people who were all seeking the spiritual path. He fell in love with the peace. He felt the unconditional love and felt it was over time something he wanted.
Having been at the lowest point in his life he was rebuilding his life. Reiki then crossed his path. While writing his 21 day Diary, he discovered a passion for writing. He channelled the most beautiful words and is currently putting them together to write his own book. He is a beautiful soul. He has now found love and is enjoying a beautiful life.He is also teaching meditation and relaxation to other alcholics.
One young woman had been a Heroin addict in her youth. She had lost her then boyfriend to drugs. Yet she had changed her life around but was lost. She was indicisive. She had a flurishing furnishings business as well as a passion for Yoga. Her dream was to one day teach yoga. After embarking upon the Reiki course, she discovered her path. She sold her business and stated to teach yoga in various parts of the globe.
One special young woman who strangely enough I had met previously on another course some years earlier crossed my path. She had been suffering with depression as well as having been co-dependant with her previous relationship. She had always given healing naturally, but was a little sceptical about Reiki as she had met some Masters, who did not practise what they taught.
Once again I invited her to the healing circle where she was able to connect with people of likeminds. Once within the energies of healing sources, she became interested in Reiki. I remember on the course her face when she gave herself healing. She could feel the heat running through her veins. When she gave healing to others she was amazed.
She later went on to learn Reiki 2 which opened a vortex to her now amazing Mandala workshops. She began painting Mandalas.She has not looked back since.
I wrote an article about Breast Cancer. I got a phone call from one young woman who felt so connected to what I wrote in my column, that she wanted to meet. We arranged to meet. I met her husband who appeared at first scepticle, but further into the conversation we were talking about spirit energies.
One again I invited them to the healing circle. I feel it is important to give anyone a taste of the spiritual path. It may be intriguing for some, but perhaps it is not for everyone at certain points. Also I feel it is important for the student to find a teacher that they feel they connect with and resonate with.
Before long Darren was embarking upon a reiki1 course.It intensified his natural ability of a healer. It also enabled him to believe in himself more and stand for his own truth. It was also opening a vortex for him to connect with the spirit world. Unfortunately, his grandfather died before he could get to him. Yet before his grandmother died, Darren went to be at her side. He gave her Reiki and saw white light. He saw the spirit of her. He then became more connected to spirit. This is one young man to keep your eyes peeled upon.I feel a world class medium and healer.
I met with one young woman who was a college principle. She has been teaching much of her life, but the stresses of a relationship, work and family issues took their toll. Before long after receiving healing treatments she decided that she wanted to learn reiki for herself. Within the course I teach a method called Hatsu Rei Ho. This is a japanese start up technique as well as incrdibly empowering. This woman could not do the exercise yet wanted to. Tears of anguish flowed until she was able to do it. Realizing this it enabled her to release a blockage in the solar and throat chakra. This also enabled her to heal herself as well as embark upon her chosen path. She soon went back to teaching, then to life coaching and now is repairing computers! There is no stopping her now...
One young woman, a beauty therapist, was incredibly stressed when she first came to the Reiki course. She could not cope plus had many other issues which she burried. One of her dreams was to have a baby with her boyfriend. She believed it was impossible to achieve. Yet during the course and releasing blockages she began to access the peace and the stillness. Feeling the energy of reiki was an incredible experience. I met her half way through her 21 days. She commented that many of her worries no longer existed and that her boyfriend had agreed to try for a baby.
Refusing to let the light in, can affect the karma of the self. One young woman embarked upon the course who has a cronic illness. The pancreas is affected. Metaphysically one believes that the pancreas stores deep seated anger. Yet this young woman said she was not angry. Yet reading between her words there was profound evidence of anger. She also realized that when she was ill she gets spoilt. Unfortunately she found herself stuck within the victim role. Now healing and light enables us to move forward positively. There is nothing negative about it and it will always work for your highest good. Part of her wanted to move on and be well, yet another part had resigned herself to the fact that she will never be well. Within the family there were many other illnesses and cancers. Her issues lay deep within the vaults of the family where much control resided. Reiki helps a person to help themselves. Once again this young girl did not feel she deserved love. Nor did she want it, yet she did however want the attention she got when she was ill. Not only that but by being ill gave her control over the ones who she felt were trying to control her.
Reiki un earths the truth so one is able to look at themselves and see the real person. Often it is the person one tries to hide. Not everyone likes what they see when healing occurs. Yet it is up to you the individual to heal and accept those parts of the self.
It is interesting to note that many "people pleasers" feel more comfortable with healing others, yet find it incredibly hard to give that love to themselves. This is why Reiki 1 is so important. Yet with these courses, I can give you the gift, but it is up to you to decide to use it or not.The energy of reiki stays with you for the rest of your life.
One inspirational woman who was in fact one of my first Reiki students, had Cancer of the Spine. She found out that she had Cancer when one day she sneezed and her back broke. She was an incredible teacher for me. She always showed so much strength. She was very much dedicated to her faith and believed in God. The church became an important way of life for her. Yet there were deep buried issues. She showed much strength in acknowledging each issue and showed so much determination to live.
She was determined to work on the issues that were buried, before she was able to leave the earth plain. Reiki helped her to accept love and deserve love. She later embarked upon the Journey, had regular healing sessions. She was not a victim and even wrote her own blog, titled Cancer -an experience. She wanted to be a teacher for others so that others could live through her own truth and be a survivor.
Her spiritual destiny approached as she later passed to the light of unconditional love.
A young woman who had recently lost her job crossed my path. Strange how life patterns evolve. She had been working with my partner in an office. His contract ended and they kept in touch. He had told her about reiki and had given her some healing before he left. This was just enough to hold her interest in learning reiki for herself.
Sylvia was trained as a sports massage therapist but had lost her confidence and had spirelled into depression. She also began to work in real estate, but was uneasy about the future of the company.
She decided to hand in her notice and trust in the universe. Later she decided to embark upon the reiki course.
Dedication blossomed as she kept her 21 day diary. (I ask all students to keep this as it shows dedication and reflection from how you were before the course, during the 21 days and after.
21 days had passed. We met and she bounced into the room with so much vigor. She hugged me and again and again. She commented that she felt a changed person. She felt peace, security and like a weight had been lifted from her. Much of her life she felt alone in the life she had led. But now she did not feel alone as now she felt connected. She feels full of life.
Another young girl, received a message from her grandmother while receiving her attunement to the energy. She came through as her guide and i was able to see her. I gave a description and told her that her grandmother from her mothers side was guiding her. I told her that strangely she was wearing black and with her hair scraped back into a bun. Holding her hand was a young boy. Ellie had not seen that image of her grandmother yet when I told her it gave her goose bumps but a feeling of contentment. It was however during the 21 days that she went to visit her grandfather s house. There on the sideboard was a picture of her grandmother just as I had described. The reason she was wearing black was because she had lost a young son shortly before she passed. This message gave her mother confirmation to know her mother was at peace in spirit and for her to know that the message she received during her attunement was real. Her grandmother was guiding her.
It appears strange, though nothing happens by co-incidence, that most of my students are currently in year 2007, working within the field of Hairdressing/beauty therapies. I had put out to the universe that I wanted a hairdresser that I could connect with on a friendship level. Now amusingly I am unindated with many hairdressers and therapists. But perhaps it is important to note, that most people who work in the service industry, especially that of hairdressing are perhaps grat healers. They have the ability of listening to the client and hearing all their problems, and able to transform them through touch and helping them to feel better about themselves through the way they help them look.
Beauticians help to heal the outside as well with nail art or make overs. But what is important here, is if the therapist can help the person to look at the inside and heal those parts as well as the external, then a much deeper and thourough job has been carried out.
Reiki- assists our pathway. Do not look at it as a cure, see it as a way of life.
