Reiki and hunger

Reiki is not just about finding the self. Reiki is abut connecting with the whole. The whole is an interpretation of oneness. If we are all one then the images you see down the side of this blog will draw you closer. They will tell you something about yourself. They will reach deep inside your soul and assist with you to just stop for one moment. In that moment put yourself in that predicament. Look into the eyes of truth. The child can not hide their feelings. AS you are part of the whole, you too can feel what they feel. Are you going to allow the hunger in the world to continue? Are you going to let this poor orphan child suffer any longer?
Remember the 5 reiki principles?
The third principle is about honoring your teachers. This picture of this orphan, is a teacher. He is teaching you something important about yourself. Do you really appreciate what you have in your life? I feel the aspect of appreciation comes into play. This week perhaps it would be beneficial in becoming aware of how much you throw away in the dustbin. How much food is thrown away, and unwanted, when half the world is starving. Thousands of children are dying daily.
Can we as a whole do something? Are you going to allow this teacher to fade into the back of your mind? Or do you feel something rattle within yourself, a knowing an urge to help him, to improve his life and the thousands, millions like him?
One could argue that it is fate that his life is how and where it is, but it is also fate that you are looking into his eyes today and learning an important lesson about yourself.

Barack Obama, has to be the freshest, stimulating and the most empowering positive person that has stepped into the public eye in the arena of politics . He is a rare breed that dares to speak out against the "Establishment" that has for too long governed the minds of men. In many ways he is giving back the power to the people, enabling them to have a voice and begin to believe in their own truth. For too long the veils of secrecy have hidden the souls of the masses. He now steps out as a beacon of light giving hope not only for America, but the nations around the world.

I use his power as an affirmation, as a stance and an example as he is someone I feel with a presence. Yet we all have a presence and a voice.

As many people begin to awaken, an era of self development and awareness steps in giving the human spirit a wake up call.

I continue to be deeply inspired by many students and clients alike, that the energy that we channel, can and does change lives. In order to find the self or to begin the journey of self discovery, one important ingredient is always added to the recipe of success. That all important ingredient is what encourages us all to develop and change our lives for the better. The ingredient is FOCUS.

Focus enables us to believe in something that we want. It ignites a passion and a thrive for change. It brings in new hope and belief.

The focus of living, of connecting, of being a being of light, has been brushed aside, with the essence of unconditional love swept from our society.

But there is hope.

Many times within workshops or courses I have heard people say, "I cant do that". The moment you send that message to the brain, the mind begins to believe it. It has an overall effect on the body, creating a limiting process. When you send out constant reminders to the self that you cant do something, You believe it. Yet with focus and intention , they realize that they can.

"I believe" was given to us by Martin Luther King, who, perhaps was born before his time. Yet he gave people hope. Many musicians and writers were inspired by his words. Perhaps Barack Obama is the freshest and most invigorating person to step outside of America since then.

Too many people are focusing upon what might happen in years to come. Dont give it energy. Live in the moment, live with the belief, Yes we can!

We are also seeking mediums and clairvoyants to give talks and evenings of clairvoyance/mediumship. Previous mediums and clairvoyants who have taken the platform are, Mary warhurst, Lorraine Sykes, Lorraine Allen-Mediumship, Gaynor thompson- Mediumship, Les Gardener and Lorraine Gratton- Evening of Clairvoyance.

We will also be running development and healing circles in spanish in the autumn from mid september.

Although you are a Master, it does not enable you to teach. There is another Level 4, that is available after you have worked with the A.R.T level. Not all Reiki Masters go on to Teach. One must remember that when you attune to the Master level, you are always in a state of becoming a master. You will be required to present 10 case studies through out this course. Prior to the course you must present 4 case studies of your clients.

Reiki courses in Melilla and Fuengirola Spain

The next Reiki course will take place in Melilla. We have a former student to thank for this opportunity. This is an example of how Reiki can manifest and change lives. Last year "Silvia" attened a reiki course. After the course her life changed considerably. She met "the man of her dreams", left home , terminated her employment and moved to Melilla with her new partner. Here she got a job in a hair and beauty salon and soon had clients for Reiki. Her clients as well as her boss are now about to embark upon Reiki courses. So luis and I will be teaching courses in Melilla from the 26th-1st July. These courses are taught in Spanish (en español).

Guided by Jason and Luis, my initiation into Reiki was a most beautiful experience.

Transforming dark into light has not been easy, for me, but is ultimately incredibly liberating. .
I am still in the middle of my transformation, but already I have been able to experience greater joy and felt an inner peace.
Ive also practiced on a few friends and they tell me they feel renewed after their session, so I must be doing something right..

Life after taking a Reiki Course

My life after Reiki. By Tracey Ann Edwards

In 2004 I started having panic attacks after a near death experience , as a form of self help I began having Reiki treatments, after which time I took my Reiki 1 degree. I went through a very turbulent time after this, it seemed to open up old wounds and release energies that I had been storing for a lifetime. But on a plus side I started opening up spiritually becoming more aware and intuitive with people and situations. On many occasions I would becoming increasingly conscious that I was working with guides and felt protected, by what I then felt as angel presences, but now realise after working on Reiki 2 that these feelings were of spirit activity.

After about 2 years I felt I was ready to progress to the next level, but after doing my reiki 2 back in 2006 I didn’t feel any different and after much deliberation felt that perhaps I was not ready to continue the next level of training after all. As I still needed to deal with issues and personal matters first that I hadn’t expelled completely, so I carried on working on myself using the Reiki 1 techniques.

During this time I started working on readings, I do not read traditional tarot cards and even now I do not understand the meanings of the tarot but I use the cards to meditate on a situation and give readings from the images and feelings I receive when holding the card and concentrating on a situation. I felt a stronger connection the more I worked, but my confidence issue only allowed me to do readings via the internet. I still felt doubtful of any action I took and had no self belief that in fact things I was “hearing” and “seeing” were not actually all in my imagination and were given to me through spirituality methods.

Leading up to the middle of 2007 it seemed that everything was falling apart our house was burgled, we had terrible money problems, and was struggling keeping the house going and school fees etc. I started to work on ways to earn money but instead ended up spreading myself too thinly, not concentrating on just one main area or putting all my positive energy into just one or two projects rather than nine or ten ! Relationships within my family starting to take its toll, all in all it was a very bleak time. We decided to sell our villa and rent an apartment . The next three months saw us out of our financial worries and the negative suppression surrounding our family started to clear.

What I had then realised, is that during the “testing” time I did not work with my reiki techniques as I was “too busy” to think about it, so everything was getting on top of me, rather than taking one day at a time and living in the now, I was looking towards trying to fix tomorrow and not thinking about myself today .

Once again I put all my energies into the home and taking time for myself and my family, living by the 5 reiki principles of reiki 1, meditating everyday and realised how much happier I was and how much more differently I was looking at things and what was happening to my life when I did. I decided to take my reiki 2 again as a refresher as I felt it was not the right time when I had taken it in 2006 . I contacted Jason explaining that I felt I needed to do the Reiki 2 again rather than do my 3rd Masters degree. He emailed me back and said it was on the following weekend leaving me no time to change my mind through insecurities or confidence issues so I booked it there and then.

WOW… is all I can say, I know 100% that this was the right time for me to take this course again, I felt more at peace with myself, more comfortable and the information seemed to be absorbed much deeper and with more understanding than before. I took the course with two other ladies, all there for different reasons. Linda and Tara. The weekend for me was filled with emotion, tears, laughter, happiness, doubt, and with eagerness to learn everything. All feelings rolled into 48 hours. It was intense, emotional, enlightening but above all a beautiful experience that you cannot truly appreciate unless you are going through it personally. It left me with a feeling of complete openness and clarity, everything seemed so clear and unclouded.

It was amazing how things started happening so quickly. A cliché but it really was and still is a roller coaster ride ! During one of the meditations at the weekend course . I was shown myself in a room with young people teaching them the art of meditation . On the Monday after the weekend, it was so clear that this was what I wanted to do, that I sat for the next few days designing the flyers, getting them printed , finding a venue and distributing them and succeeded in all four within the next 10 days. The classes are starting in March, with a fantastic response, so much so that I have been asked to do adult classes too.

It has helped restore my confidence and self esteem almost immediately too. On the Wednesday, 3 days after the course, I received an email from the Guinness Book of Records to do the hair and makeup for them at a celebrity photo shoot in Spain the following weekend. Which will be in the next edition of the book coming out in September 2008. I was obviously nervous and had a very very light anxiety attack, but by using the methods we learnt at the weekend I managed to calm myself down and it did not flare up into a full blown panic attack. Once I was at the shoot it all went fantastically well, so much so that the client wants me to work with her again when she is next over in Spain for a reality television show about her. The following Friday I had a wedding hair and makeup trial which I would normally be worrying about, concerned that I would not be good enough or that the bride would not like it, but I had no problems at all and went in and did it with no issue, before I even finished, the bride to be, said that she wanted to book me, as she felt comfortable with me and that she has seen some editorial work that I had done and couldn’t believe that I could be nervous about meeting people for the first time as she thought my work was outstanding. ( that was a huge confidence boost) !

Over the following days I had a total of twenty-six confirmed weddings, book in for this coming year and 2009. ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE. I should have that tattooed on my body somewhere, where I can remind myself.

It is not all about monetary and vocational wealth though. The relationship between myself and my husband has always been strong, and even though he does not practise spirituality he has never disbelieved it and has always been respectful of my interest and participation in it. However since doing the Reiki 2, he has become more aware of the power that it generates. My mother recently had to undergo an MRI scan on a possible tumour in her foot, the first thing he said was “Don’t worry babe, you send her some healing” fortunately it turned out she has a rare case called Avascular Necrosis and not a tumour as they first thought ( again the power of positive thought) … A few days later a friend of his had premature twins one of which was in intensive care weighing only a few pounds again he called me to tell me, that he has told the husband to have positive thoughts and asked me “if I could do my thing” ! Both babies are now doing well putting on weight and making the way in the right direction of coming home. Jasmin my eldest often asks me to do reiki on her if she is feeling a little under the weather, whereas my five year just walks around going cross eyes reciting “Ohm” with a big grin on her face…!  So the light is spreading even within our little family unit !

I have met a beautiful person through doing the course from whom I am learning different aspects and growing spiritually even by just listening to her experiences and knowledge. I am starting to understand the different sensations I am feeling, whether they are stronger since doing the reiki 2 or whether I am feeling different energies, I am yet still to discover but I will eventually. Which leads me to another thing that has come from my reiki 2 experience which is patience. What we are doing is not something that can be rushed or learnt from a text book, it is a lifetime of knowledge and experiences that make us into mediums, healers, light workers, psychics etc Patience is the key to most things including our spiritual growth. As a typical Gemini I used to want it all now, or yesterday preferably, but I have learnt that this is not the case and cannot be this way if we truly want fulfilling self development.

In a nut shell Reiki 2 has been the platform for me, from where everything can grow from . Like a house needs foundations, Reiki is my foundation . This is the start for me, and from hereon in I can only grow and expand spiritually. I believe that the journey begins when you complete Reiki and mine is just starting.

The article I wrote , the second half of the Frank Arjava Petter interview appeared to spark off an important element that I feel I need to address this week.
I recieved a handful of e.mails from one particular "Doctor" in the week who has taken the law into his own hands by handing out mis information about Reiki. Due to his Religious background, he believes that Reiki is the work of Saten. We are all entitled to our beliefs and Religious backgrounds, but I feel when it affects ones clients, then it is a different matter altogether. It is only what I can deem as Mal Practise.

This Doctor works in the area of "Alternative Health". I find it hard to understand that when a person is following "Alternative" ethics, that he allows his own Religion to dictate his wellbeing for his clients. Now if you were to have read the articles following the interview with Frank Arjava Petter, one would not see anything hurtful or harming. It was self explanetry.
But this "Doctor" has appeared to have scanned the article only picking out key words.

"Mediums" was one word. Apparently this is the work of the devil. Receiving a message from my grandmother and talking with the dead, apparently is the devils work. Amazing to think that we are in the year 2008 and still there are people out there who walk around with blinkers on. Apparently talking to the Spirit of Jesus is not talking to the dead, because Jesus is alive. So too is the spirit of my Grandmother. She too is an essence of God. We all are.

I asked Frank Arjava Petter about other forms of Reiki, thus Angel Reiki, Wicca Reiki and Rainbow Reiki. This Doctor, of course picked up on the word "Wicca" that immedietly told him that all healers are witches. Wicca as I explained to him is perhaps one of the oldest Religions in the world. It is part of the Pagan Religion who worship the elements, seasons, nature spirits, the God and Godess energies of the earth. It is connected to all that is. One would have thought that he would have known this as he especially works with herbs and the elements from the earth.

He also informed me that he carried out a study of Reiki. I dont know where because all he came up with were "Dangers of Reiki" and what the Bible says about it according to his Faith. It is this information that he not only believes is true, but is handing out to his clients, without them even asking for information. He tells them that the Bible has the answer.
Now I feel this is very dangerous to hand out information that could affect the wellbeing of his clients. One particular woman, who also happens to be a friend of mine was given the misinformation. She also feels that this "Doctor" is not aware of what he is doing and is unethical. He has also caused her to re-think her treatments and go elsewhere. Maybe that is a blessing.

I feel that unless a person is knowledgable within a certain area, they should leave them well alone. The makings of a good therapist is someone who has compassion and understanding for the client as well as an awareness of what is beneficial for the wellbeing. Frightening and alarming the client is well out of order.

Last week I mentioned how Religion can be used as a tool for Power and Control. In some ways this is an example of that. This particular faith believes that only the bible has the answer and all other methods are the work of Saten. This Doctor appears so conditioned and blinkered and refuses to see the otherside of the coin.
There are many people who go to church who are open and accepting of faith and spiritual healing. Reiki is also apart of that. Its origins stem from Japan and Tibet.

Reiki is unconditional Love channelled from Source. How can love, unconditional love, be the work of the Devil?

In many ways I feel that the Devil, Saten, and negative energy is just a state of mind, I feel it is a fear factor, placed into society to control the masses.

Sound, healing words through rythum and sound

Music is an upliftment to the soul. Listen to these worlds and let the music heal your soul. Music is energy. Words are energy.
We are all one energy. The universe provides what we need to hear.

Sound helps to manifest new vibrations on energy. Together with Reiki, energy portals are accessed to connect with greater awareness.



Om is the connection to all that is. Om teaches us to use Mantras. We can use mantras in Reiki. Each symbol you are taught has a Mantra. When sung the Mantras help you to meditate and connect. Each mantra carries a unique vibration.



Chanting is a form of communication with the spirits. We can also learn to chant Reiki Mantras or other Mantras from other cultures. Intergrating other methods of spiritual communication further teaches us that we are all one. We all have that unique connection that leads us back to the same place.

At The Alternative World Healing Centre we feel it is beneficial to incorporate a balance of energies when healing the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual bodies of the student. We incorporate laughter and dance therapies into the course for soul development. Reiki is not just a therapy, it is a way of life. As one embarks upon a course, they also discover new parts of the self. The new part helps to create a new way of being. Reiki opens doors to the soul. The soul when accessed creates an abundance of possibilities awaiting to be accessed.




We give students time to practise treatments on "Bodies" who willingly come forward. We also offer support within the "Alternative World Healing Circle (Serenity)".
We teach students how to connect with source as well as teaching them about compassion, understanding, listening and empathy.

Her mother was so proud of her. Here she is, below. She noticed the change within her daughter, the following day after the Reiki attunement. She came back after 21 days, with her mother as she wanted to say "Thank you" for helping her daughter to improve her life.
